Is February too early to be rounding up the best swimsuits that cover stomach? I say no.
If you know me, you might be wondering why I am searching for swimsuits that cover stomach. After all, I’m usually frolicking and/or posing on the beach in the tiniest swimsuits available.
However, I had a laparoscopic cystectomy (a surgery that removed a cyst from my left ovary) at the end of January, and although the incisions are teeny-tiny (thank goodness for Minimally Invasive Surgery), I still want to make sure they get minimal sun exposure so they don’t scar. Both incisions were made on either side of my belly button, a few inches lower, so anything high-waisted will cover them up. I’m also blessed that one-pieces are in style and there are a ton of cute ones to choose from (plus a few I already own that fit the bill).
You may not be looking to cover up surgical incisions when shopping for swimwear (it’s probably a niche market), but you might be wanting to cover up your lower belly for other reasons. Like, maybe you forgot to shave your happy trail, or maybe you just feel sexier in swimsuits that cover stomach?
Whatever it is, here are my picks for 10+ Swimsuits that cover stomach for Summer 2018.
1. She’s My Cherry Pie
Mon Cheri One Piece, For Love and Lemons, $167
Just so you know, this is way more than I’d normally spend on a swimsuit, and a whole piece at that. But…I really, really want this ever since I saw it on @flamcis. However, I have purchased girly cherry-printed swimsuits before and didn’t get as much wear out of them as I’d hoped, so I’ll be having a think on this before doing anything drastic.
2. Zip It On Up
Fleata Bikini Bottoms, Motel, $35
This suit is simple with just enough hardware to give it an edge. I feel like it would flatter almost anyone — and it’s easy to mix and match!
3. Itsy-Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow One Piece-Kini
Strappy High Cut Plaited One Piece, Zaful, $17.99
Okay, it’s not actually that teeny-weeny (although the open strappy back is hot). This suit is actually really simple, but I love the color and I feel like there are a few occasions when simple can be better — especially with a tan.
4. Need This For My FarmVille Fantasy Life
Checked Tie Front High Waisted Bikini, Zaful, $19.49
I’m obviously not buying all the bikinis on this list (I wish), but I’m almost definitely buying this one. I’ve been obsessed with red gingham lately but haven’t found a piece that’s worked (if you follow me on Instagram you might’ve seen me trying on this set on my Insta story, which I returned). This is affordable, adorable, and checks all the boxes (pun intended).
5. A Stylish Update to the Borat Suit
Bandeau Top and High Waisted Slip Bikini Bottoms, Zaful, $16.99
I don’t know why I need this, but I do. The only thing slightly holding me back is that bandeaus aren’t my favorite, but something about the weirdness of this bikini (if you can call it that) speaks to me. The under $20 price point and bright red color helps, but it actually comes in a bunch of cute colors if you’re not red-crazed like me. The olive is very chic if I do say so myself.
6. This Is Legit Everything I Need In a Swimsuit Right Now
Egypt Cheeky Cut Out Swimsuit, Boohoo, $38
Okay I want this swimsuit so badly that I’m legit emailing Boohoo customer service to see if they’ll be restocking it in my size. It will cover my incisions, still show some tummy, and make my boobs the center of attention! Literally all I could ever want in a swimsuit right now TBH.
7. Marilyn Goes To The Beach
Malibu Plunge Cross Back Swimsuit, Boohoo, $22.80
White always looks awesome with a tan. And this suit gives off some major Marilyn Mon-hoe vibes. I also feel like it would definitely do double duty for me as a bodysuit with summer skirts — but that also depends on the quality. I’ve never bought Boohoo swimsuits before, but I know that usually you get what you pay for when it comes to swimwear. I’ll probably buy one of the suits listed here (or a few) and do a review!
8. Getting That Vitamin D
Cuba Banana Print High Waist Scoop Bikini, Boohoo, $20.40
For some reason I really like banana imagery in my fashion choices, and if this suit was available in my size it wouldn’t be the first item I’ve worn with bananas all over it. I really like the playfulness and feel like it would complement the overly sexy suits on this list nicely. After all, we sometimes need something for family beach days, right? Bonus if it fits into the swimsuits that cover stomach category.
9. Land of The Snakes
Carprinass Women’s Sexy Cutout Bikini, Amazon, $15.99
Okay, I know Amazon has cute stuff, but I was honestly shook when I found this suit that’s so hot — and it’s only $16! The review says 3 stars, but if you look at all the recent reviews there are tons of photo proof to show it’s legit, so I might have to dabble. Would also be great for a music festival if you’re into that sort of thing.
10. Will Be Worth The Time It Takes To Put On
Kisscy Womens Halter Neck Wrap Crisscross Suit, $16.99
The down side to this swimsuit? It might not be the easiest to put on. The up side? You can literally tie it, like, five ways (check the Amazon reviews, one girl kindly showed them all in the photos she uploaded with her review). And, they have about five other colors too. In terms of swimsuits that cover stomach, this might be one of the most revealing options.
BONUS: Suits from last summer that cover stomach (that are still available for purchase) that I know I’ll be wearing again:
1. This Instagram-Ready One Piece
I got this suit in an XS, and while I probably would’ve been better off with a S, the XS keeps it tight in all the right places and makes my boobs look bomb. I will caution you that just like a grey t-shirt, a grey swimsuit shows your sweat-stains pretty visibly, and also any wet spots from when you took a dip in the pool. This is definitely more of an Instagram photoshoot swimsuit than an active day at the beach swimsuit, but that doesn’t make it any less flattering.
2. For The Bae-Watch Look
Yandy Baywatch Lifeguard Swimsuit, $49.95
This suit zips you up in all the right places, is made of high-quality fabric, and can be as sexy or demure as you want — just adjust the zipper. Also, it’s super affordable! You will legit feel like a Baywatch babe in this, I promise. For reference, I am wearing a Small.
3. Be The Brightest On The Beach
Lolli Swim Babe Color Block Bikini Top – Vintage Rose
I was gifted this swim suit last summer, and although it’s probably not something I would’ve bought on my own, I love the color combination, and it made me realize that I didn’t look as bad as I thought I did in high-waisted bikinis. For reference, I’m wearing a Small bottom and Medium top.
Thank you for making it all the way to the bottom of this post! I hope you’ve found some swimsuits that cover stomach you liked or maybe some brands you want to check out. If you have any requests for content you’d like to see or stores you’d like me to review, comment below!
Gorgeous collection! These swimsuits are perfect for enjoying on the beach. There are so many options for me. I will definitely try some from these. Thanks for sharing.
I’m glad you like them! Would love to hear about your experience if you ended up buying one from this list 🙂
Hi! you know I have a friend that really wants to wear a swimsuit on the beach but she’s shy and unconfident about the scar in the lower part of her tummy that’s why she always wears rush guard every time we had a beach party or vacations that related to the beach. This is really helpful and gives an idea to those ladies who had a problem with their tummy. Thank you for sharing.

I’m so glad you know someone who will appreciate this post! In a perfect world we’d all wear our scars proudly, but I totally get being self conscious about them and I’m glad that the swimsuit market has gotten so varied and that there are shapes/cuts for every body 🙂
