Chances are you may have noticed that race car fashion is everywhere this summer. Or nascar-chic, or hot wheels couture, whatever you want to call it.
The look is semi-sporty, involves lots of checkers and stripes, and usually falls in the red, white, black, and yellow color scheme (a.k.a my favorite colors to wear). Also, flames may or may not be involved.
If you know what kind of stuff I like, you can probably see why I’m digging this trend.
I got a bright red racing jacket from Melrose Trading Post when I was in L.A. in March, and although the big Bud logo emblazoned across the front makes me feel a bit poser-ish since I’m sober, I really like it.
I felt like it went really well with a mini-dress I got from Dolls Kill, which combined the race car fashion trend, plus the cherry trend that’s also been popping up everywhere.
Topped off with my favorite red PVC boots, and I felt like I was off to the races (or at least ready to hop in a cute guy’s sports car).

“Lit” is one of the many words/phrases I started saying as a joke, but then got naturally incorporated into my vocabulary and grew on me. This bag also reminds me of the pair of black, flame-printed converse I had in the 4th grade that I cherished dearly, not to mention it looks like it would fit a lot of shit in it!
