Have you noticed that this summer’s trends are kind of all over the place? I’m not sure if it’s because we’re all just excited to be wearing something other than sweatpants after the year we’ve had, or because temperatures are reaching new heights, or because social media is making trends come and go faster than your ex-boyfriend, but it’s real.
Here are some easy outfit ideas that I threw on to match with my new Jim Halo sunglasses. I’ve been a fan of Jim Halo since trying their blue light glasses (read my review here), but in honor of the sunshine season, I decided to try some sunglasses. Take a look at these outfit ideas and let me know what you think!
A printed dress with combat boots
I always like pairing a bit of sugar with a bit of spice—with my food (IMO corn dogs are the perfect meaty and sweet combo) and with my ‘fits. I thought rocking combat boots with this super glam leopard dress helped make it more casual (and appropriate for a sports bar). It also added a bit of an edge. I love adding chunky or punky accessories (combat boots, spiked jewelry, leather, etc.) to girly prints (think a floral summer dress).
I went with the Jim Halo Irene Classic Round Sunglasses in “Tea” for this look, because they matched the glam vibe of the dress in my opinion. Tortoiseshell always feels upscale to me—nobody has to know they were only $49 😉
Fun pants with a pop of this summer’s favorite color
Is anyone else feeling green with envy lately? Or is it just me? Green has been everywhere this summer—whether you’re rocking it in pistachio, mint, forest, kelly, neon or whatever shade tickles your fancy.
Pastel green is definitely the most trendy at the moment, so I rocked this green bra top with a pair of fun printed pants and a pastel pink purse for a girly, but slightly edgy look (note the handcuff earrings).
Since this look didn’t involve any black or dark colors, I didn’t want dark sunnies to stand out. Instead, I opted for these “Corey” sunglasses from Jim Halo.
Tennis chic style
Another big trend of the summer? An outfit that makes it look like you just got off the golf course, or had lunch at a really boujie country club. I like this white tennis skirt from Alo so much that I might buy it in black too.
I don’t have white sunglasses, so to keep my peepers peeled, I went with this black pair to pick up on the black stripes and writing on my socks. They’re the Classic Cat Eye Sunglasses (“Colby”) in gray.
Thank you to Jim Halo Eyewear for sponsoring this post!
