Nothin’ But Net: Sex Shop Accessories

October 27, 2016 by loxandleather 8 Comments

If you’re scared to enter a sex shop for fear of walls of dildos and a creepy manager, you shouldn’t be.

Well, as long as you’re going to the right sex shops.

One sex shop I really love is Lady Love on South Street in Philadelphia. They always have an amazing selection of lingerie, shoes, and accessories. Plus all the toys are upstairs, so you don’t have to face 12″ dildos if you don’t want to.

I popped in there the other week and although I wanted everything, I figured I would limit myself to something on the less expensive side and something I would get a lot of use out of. So, I bought this killer spiked choker ($30) and fishnet top ($15). They also had those rhinestone chokers that everyone is wearing these days, but the nice one was $60, and I wasn’t trying to spend that at the time.

I had been looking for a spiked choker like this for a while ever since I lost the one I had from Claire’s in the third grade (RIP). Even though this one is kind of big on me, I like that it’s well made from real leather.

As for the top, it’s so versatile. This look was super simple, but I’ve also worn it under t-shirts, under a silk bra-let top (check it on my Instagram) and if you’re feeling really sexy you could def rock a bra underneath…or pasties for a rave type look.

Another sex shop that has really cool bodysuit type lingerie is The Pleasure Chest. If you’re still not down to do in-person sex shop visits, definitely check out Yandy for the lacy type bodysuits that are in right now at a fraction of the price. I just ordered a couple myself which I’ll be sharing on the site soon. But in the mean time, check out how I styled these two new pieces…

Brand Crush: Shade London Gets Meshy

October 18, 2016 by loxandleather 3 Comments

In case you couldn’t tell from my previous posts, I shop at Dolls Kill a lot. Nasty Gal used to be my go-to for online shopping, but their quality has gotten a lot shittier and their sizing has been off for me lately (I’ve gotten an XXS and had it be huge on me). Plus, Dolls Kill has way more interesting stuff, even if their return policy is a little whack (you can only get store credit rather than a full refund, which is a bummer but not the worst if there are a million things you want from their site like me).

Anyways, a brand that was recently added to the Dolls Kill site is SHADE London, and I’m fucking obsessed with all their shit.

I’d love to have ordered a million things from them, but because I’m broke I just ordered one thing, a bodysuit. I originally got this bodysuit in an XS, but it was teeny-tiny and I could barely get it over my legs. The small fits me a lot better, although it’s still pretty snug on my boobs and my hips. One thing I like about the piece is that the bodysuit has a thong bottom and the front straps on the chest can be moved as far in or out as you like them (although in my case that doesn’t really minimize the cleavage).

The style reminds me a lot of Bao Tranchi’s designs, but at a much lower price point, which is always good news for me.

I also got these really versatile and comfy pants from the Dolls Kill site, the brand is Gypsy Warrior. They’re slightly see-through like lots of leggings made from this material are, but overall I’m pretty happy with them.

This bodysuit also comes in nude, which I was considering getting because I already have so many black bodysuits…but then I caved and figured you could never have too much black, right?

Scroll to the bottom of the post for outfit details and some more pieces I love from SHADE London!

I Cut Up My T-Shirt Like Kendall Jenner

October 3, 2016 by loxandleather 5 Comments

Alright, I by no means consider the Kardashians or the Jenners to be style icons. But shit, sometimes members of that clan wear some shit that I can really get behind. Like Kim’s recent free the nipple world tour or Kylie’s crazy hair colors.

When I saw Kendall Jenner cut up her vintage tee in a super simple (but sexy) way, I really liked it. Also, I knew that I could do it myself (even if Kendall didn’t do hers herself, which I doubt she did).

kendall-jenner-showed-off-sexy-t-shirt-diy-while-out-about_1_2Because I didn’t have any tees that I was willing to cut up, I paid a visit to the Buffalo Exchange by my office and browsed the boys’ section. There weren’t many shirts I liked in the men’s section, but I did come across this FUCT t-shirt that I thought was hilarious. After all, you know how much I love shirts with semi (or very) inappropriate sayings.

I also ended up buying a cute Thrasher t-shirt with a flame pocket, and a black mesh button up tee. I love boys clothes, and since I no longer date skater boys, I have to purchase them myself these days.

The tee I got was not exactly like Kendall’s. The fabric and fit was boxier and the shirt was a size small, so it wouldn’t be as baggy as Kendall’s look was. Either way, I decided to go for it because the front of the shirt didn’t have much on it anyways.

I basically just cut a slit in the middle of the chest part of the shirt, then cut up both sides as evenly as possible. It literally took me under a minute, which was great.

Because my tee was boxier, I tucked the whole thing in rather than just a front portion like Kendall. I also chose to wear a more fun bra because a black lacy bra-let is a bit more scandalous on me, and I’ll use any excuse to incorporate cheetah print into an outfit.

Fishnets Have Quickly Become Pretty Mainstream

September 13, 2016 by loxandleather 2 Comments

Just like Metallica and heavy metal T-shirts, fishnets have suddenly become trendy.

I’m all for it, because I’ll take any excuse to dress like the emo chick that I truly am. But it’s can still be a challenge to incorporate the fishnets into a daily look without looking like a dominatrix or an extra from a punk-rock music video.

I attempted to wear an old pair of fishnets with a casual outfit, but I’m not sure it really worked for me. Since taking these pics, I’ve figured out how to wear fishnets a little more successfully (or so I think).

Regardless, here’s this look anyways. Let me know what you think of it in the comments section!
