Are you looking for an honest Oh La La Cheri review? You’ve come to the right place.
I had the chance to try a few pieces from Oh La La Cheri and I wanted to share my experience with you in case you are looking to buy some sexy lingerie for yourself or for someone special.
My Honest Oh La La Cheri Review
Okay so, in case you haven’t heard, I love lingerie. Everything from low end, sex shop fishnets to high-end, Agent Provocateur three piece sets that I incorporate into my Halloween costumes.
When I had the chance to pick out a few items from Oh La La Cheri, I had trouble selecting which items I wanted, because lots of their sets were super cute. However, I’d always wanted a sexy little nightgown type get-up since I usually opt for something more scandalous, so I selected this red nightie and matching thong, plus this cute little panty in black.
While I loved the nightie, the panty was much too big on me (even in a size small), so I ended up choosing another set instead — the maroon strappy set I’m wearing in the header image — which ended up being my favorite.
I like to make my reviews as simple as possible, so here are my Oh La La Cheri review pros, cons, and other good to know info:
The Good:
They offer really sexy, cute lingerie pieces for relatively affordable prices — and it doesn’t look cheap.
All of the stuff I tried were comfy fabrics without itchy tags, uncomfortable underwire, etc.
Shipping is speedy (and if you order through Amazon or Nordstrom, returns are free)
The Bad:
They don’t offer XS in most of their styles, so if you’re on the smaller side like me, it can be hit or miss. Both styles I’m wearing in the photos worked great in a size small (the maroon set is actually pretty tight), but the panty I ordered originally was too big on me in a size small.
Not sure if this is really a con, but like most lacy lingerie, these items need to be hand-washed, so just FYI 🙂
Are you looking for an honest, detailed Look Book Store review? You’ve come to the right place.
A couple months ago I had the chance to try a few items from Look Book Store (@lookbookstoredaily), and though I was skeptical, I was pleasantly surprised! Scroll for the pros and cons of my shopping experience with them.
My Honest Look Book Store Review
When I first scrolled through Look Book Store’s site, I didn’t see much that caught my eye, but I was interested in trying this one oversized blazer since I’ve been seeing similar ones everywhere and figured I could also wear it to work.
I really liked everything I bought. I specifically bought stuff that was supposed to be a bit over-sized because I was a bit nervous about them not offering XS, and everything worked out! The items are particularly good for me to wear to work—the sweater is so comfy for my freezing cold office.
Here are the pros and cons of Look Book Store:
The Good:
Everything seemed true to size
The quality was surprisingly good for the price — the blazer was pretty thin fabric and unlined, but not bad for $35
Things looked the same IRL as they did online
They offer XL and XXL in many items
The Bad:
They don’t offer XS in most items (Nothing I was interested in came in an XS)
Returns aren’t free, and it seems labor-intensive based on their website instructions (also, swimwear is not returnable!)
I’m obsessed with these blue light glasses. I originally rented them on FashionPass (read my review of this fashion rental service here), and had to buy them myself. I can’t say for certain if they actually help my eyes (TBH my eyes were desensitized to staring at a computer screen years ago), but they really up the ante of any outfit I’m wearing and are really flattering.
If you want designer shoe dupes so you can get the styles of your favorite luxury brands without the price tag, I’m about to let you in on a little secret…
I have been so busy with work and writing for other publications (if you’ve gone to my home page recently, you may have noticed that I’m now posting published pieces here too), that I haven’t written something for my blog in a while, but I got some cute pics on Tuesday night and I figured I might as well share a little designer shoe dupe secret…
If you lust after designer shoes like I do, you may have noticed that I’m wearing Louboutins in this photo, right?
Except, I’m not.
And I mean, if you saw me in person, you’d know they weren’t Louboutins, because the bottoms aren’t red (they’re not FAKES, they’re knock-offs, okay?).
But for me personally, it’s really not so much about making people think I drop money on designer shoes, I just really like the styles and want them at a lower price point.
I got these shoes from FSJshoes.com. They retail for $70 (and you can buy them here). Truth be told, they are not very comfortable – I end up with a blister on the back of my heel every time. BUT, damn do they look good!
And even if you think Louboutins are basic ever since “Bodak Yellow” came out, the site has a ton of other styles that look remarkably similar to those Valentino Rockstuds your friend’s sugar daddy just bought her, or those Giuseppe Zanotti sneakers that you saw on your fave Instagram model.
Every time I think of the types of shoes I need, I envision a super high pair of black stripper heels similar to these — and yet I don’t think I’ve ever purchased one. Maybe now is the time? Apologies to all the short kings out there.
These shoes bear an uncanny resemblance to a bejeweled dagger I got on a postcard from a museum when I was a kid. Do you think that’s why I like them?
I always love a good emerald shoe, but the problem is I have zero emerald in the rest of my wardrobe anymore, so the suede emerald green Miu Miu booties I bought on consignment in 2014 have gotten about zero wear in the last few years.
But if you wear green more than I do, please buy these so I can live vicariously.
While these are not as killer as the aforementioned stripper heels, these would actually be super practical and I could totally see myself wearing them to work regularly. They also look more comfortable than my current pair of FSJ shoes since they don’t have the threat of tearing up the backs of my ankles.
BTW, here’s a link to the real ones for a chill $775.
4. These Louboutin Knock-Offs That Prove Nude Doesn’t Have to be Boring
If you’re a first time visitor, welcome.
If you’re not, you probably know I love spikes on basically everything. What better way to dress up a basic nude heel than with some seriously dangerous-looking hardware? These are clearly Louboutin-inspired.
6. These Comfy-Looking Wedges That Go All In On This Summer’s Highlighter Trend
Once again, I know a recognize this style from a runway shoe somewhere, but can’t put my finger on it (and does it really matter?).
These are great shoes to wear if you don’t mind giving every guy that hits on you an easy opening-line. You’ll also probably get a ton of compliments from women — which are always nice.
7. I’m Getting Major Charlotte Olympia Vibes From These…
I knew these reminded me of a Charlotte Olympia design, and a quick Google search proved me right. These are direct knockoffs of the Charlotte Olympia “Kiss Me Dolores” shoe.
The style once retailed for $975, but is now sold out. It also looks like FSJ used the same image on their website, which means it’s a bit questionable what the shoe you’ll get will look like. However, my Louboutins did not disappoint.
9. These Are Perfect If You’re Trying To Feel Like Dorothy—Or Someone Who Can Afford Miu Miu
The upside is that these shoes are under $100, the downside is that even if you buy the $800 Miu Miu version, you still won’t be able to leave the club by tapping your heels together and saying, “I want to go home” — get your Uber app ready.
10. I’ll Close This List With a Little Old Town Road Vibes
Okay, let’s be honest — you freaking need these.
I have a pair of off-white cowboy boots I got from ASOS in like 2010 and I still wear them so much. If I wore pink I would buy these in a heartbeat. Please get them with my blessing.
Anyway, definitely check out FSJ Shoes if your heart says yes to those designer heels you saw in the September issue, but your bank account says hell no. I can’t vouch for the comfort level, but at least you’ll look good for an Instagram pic before you change into the flip flops from the trunk of your car!
As I mentioned, you can also buy some of their styles on Amazon HERE.
Also, this entire outfit (top and bottom) is from Melrose Trading Post. The skirt is from Purrrshop, I’m obsessed with their skirts. This is the third one I’ve bought, and I would def recommend their stuff if you have trouble finding stuff on the smaller side — I’m wearing an XS and they go all the way down to XXS (also, check this blog post for more places to shop). I forgot where the top is from, but here are two similar options in white from Revolve and in black from Forever 21 for just $11. Ever since I’ve bought it I can’t stop wearing it, it’s great for when you want to be subtly sexy and keep cool — but not be over the top.
