My Honest 3 Wishes Review: Halloween Costumes + Sexy Lingerie

October 27, 2020 by loxandleather No Comments
3wishes-review-blog

In need of a sexy costume for last minute Halloweekend plans? Or just want to read a 3 Wishes review? I’ve got you covered with costume inspo and all you wanna know about shopping on 3wishes.com.

3 Wishes is a lingerie site that specializes in tons of fun costume offerings. They’ve been in the biz for over 20 years and are based in Arizona. They also offer shoes, accessories, and some beauty items (like lashes), plus they have an entire plus-sized section.

I selected three costumes from their site (it was hard to narrow my selection down because there were so many good options), and I give my honest review on all of them below, as well as my honest thoughts on the entire experience shopping with them.

What I Bought:

Beauty Ringmaster Costume, $89.95

There were a few cute ringmaster costumes that struck my fancy (I also really liked this one). At first try-on, I though the sequined bodice and epaulets were a bit much, but when I got into full costume I felt like they were just enough. To be honest, I didn’t look closely enough online and I originally didn’t expect the sequins (I thought it would be shiny PVC-ish fabric all over). This costume doesn’t come with a whip (I bought my own on Amazon here), but it does come with the hat! I paired it with fishnets and OTK boots. The neckline is easily adjustable to cover as much (or as little) as you need, and the back isn’t too cheeky so it keeps things relatively covered. You could also wear dark tights if you wanna show less skin.

The Punishing One Costume, $64.00

While I used to be a big superhero fan as a kid, I was more of a DC girl than a Marvel girl, so tbh I don’t really know much about the Punisher. But I do know that my ex had a Punisher tank top that I loved (I just like skulls), and I also love a good leg harness, so this costume stuck out to me. I like that it’s long-sleeved (for cooler October weather) and covered-up on the torso area to balance out the more cheeky bottom and leg harness action. I also had to buy some white PVC boots to copy the model’s look (snag them on Amazon here). I got this costume in a small, and if it came in an extra small I probably would have preferred that just so it would be tighter on the arms and chest area. I actually used safety pins to make the straps around the arms tighter, which was pretty easy. You definitely don’t need a wig for this costume, but I had this one from last year’s Cruella costume that I bought on Amazon, so I figured why not? I also bought these fun bejeweled fishnets on Amazon.

Masked Bandita Costume (Sold Out)

Fun fact about me: I was obsessed with Zorro as a child (or maybe just Antonio Banderas). I used to dress up as Zorro and run around the house. Not even on Halloween, just on a Saturday when I wasn’t in pre-school or whatever. So, when I saw this sexy Zorro costume, I knew I had to have it (even if solely for the side-by-side comparison photos). This costume actually came in an XS, and it was definitely very small up top and on bottom (it was dangerously short). The website said it came with a hat, sword, and mask, but because they were low on inventory they didn’t have any swords left. Sad. Regardless, I still kind of loved this costume, but I didn’t love how I looked in the mask so I left that out. Guess I’m just a regular non-masked bandita?

The Good:

  • 3 Wishes has a huge selection of sexy Halloween costumes and some that are totally reasonable for your office Halloween party (even if it’s via Zoom)
  • Shipping was super quick. I am in CA, so that might have helped, but still!
  • All costumes seemed to fit me pretty well. I was a bit worried that size S would be too big/not sexy enough on me, but I didn’t run into that issue.
  • They are offering FREE shipping on all orders over $50, which is most costumes. Plus, discreet shipping in case you don’t want your mom to know that you just spent your allowance on a sexy Beetlejuice costume.
  • I tend to dislike pre-packaged Halloween costumes, but I found that all the ones I got from here were pretty nice and came with a good bit of accessories for the price!

The Bad:

  • They only offer exchanges/store credit, no returns.
  • It doesn’t seem like they offer a lot of items in XS, although like I mentioned above, that didn’t seem to be a big issue for me (it usually is with other brands).

The Good to Know:

  • Use code: “10OFF” to save 10% on your entire order.

I hope this 3 Wishes review was helpful to you! Feel free to let me know any questions you may have in the comments section!:

Have you seen Femme Luxe Finery all over your IG feed and want to read an honest Femme Luxe Finery review before clicking that “purchase” button?  I’ve got you covered.

I had the chance to work with Femme Luxe Finery a bit about a year ago, when they reached out to me offering to send clothing in exchange for Instagram posts. I selected a few items, some were a major hit (like this one-shouldered crop top that is one of my go-to’s to this day), and some were misses (like a cropped sweatsuit that was a bit too big on me). They sell all kinds of clothing, and for the current times they definitely have cute joggers, t shirts, and loungewear.

It seems like in the last year they’ve grown their offerings and website significantly, and they also seem to offer smaller sizes in most of their items. They did start using a new e-commerce model with a Kylie Jenner-esque body that looks nothing like mine, which makes it hard for me to tell how their clothes will look on me. But, they still had a ton of cute dresses, so when they reached out again asking to collaborate on a blog post, I was excited!

I selected four items, and I give my honest review on all of them below, as well as my honest thoughts on the entire experience shopping with them.

What I Bought:

White “Shoot Your Shot” Slogan Print Crew Neck T-Shirt, $7.99

This shirt is made of that super soft, spandex-y t-shirt material, which makes it super comfy, but also prone to stretching. This shirt didn’t come in a 6, it is only offered in S/M, and M/L, so I knew it might be a bit big, and it was. But, I still think it’s cute tied-up, although of course a bit see-through. It’s definitely a good tee for lazy days around the house (aka every day as of late). And, they have this style in a ton of different slogan/graphic options that are fun.

Red Belted Bodycon Midi Dress

When I first opened this dress, I was bummed to see that the dress seemed thinner in fabrication than I expected. For some reason, from the website photos, I thought it would be more of a sweater dress. Even in my photos, I think the dress looks a bit thicker than it is IRL. But, the dress is still really cute and gives me the cut and fit I was hoping for. I like that there’s enough support that I don’t need a bra, and that you can tie the waist belt in a few different ways.

Wine Slinky Balloon Sleeve Mini Dress

This is my favorite of everything I got. I just think the dress is really cute and really comfy. It’s definitely short, and I’m not sure I can wear underwear with it without having a VPL, but I really like it. You also don’t need a bra, but I think you could easily wear one without it showing.

Red Satin Ruched Side Slip Mini Dress, $19.99

This is probably my least favorite of the bunch, but I had a feeling it would be too boxy/big for me, and I was right. However, when paired with a belt I do think it’s a fun look. And the color is just as vibrant as I hoped it would be. Like all of the other things I purchased, the material is super soft and comfy.

The Good:

  • Femme Luxe Finery offers a lot of cute, trendy styles at a super affordable price.
  • The quality is about what you would expect for the price, maybe a little better.
  • They offer a 10% student discount if you’re a studious bb.

The Bad:

  • They photograph most of their clothing on seriously curvy models (think IG baddie/Kylie Jenner body type), which makes it hard for me to know how their clothing will look on me
  • While I would definitely shop with them again and I like all the stuff I got, I do think that their clothing looks slightly higher quality online than it is IRL.
  • Shipping to the US is pretty slow (although even domestic shipping has been slow with everything going on lately). My package arrived to me 20 days after ordering.

The Good to Know:

  • They are UK sizes, so make sure to be aware of this when ordering. Luckily, you can easily toggle to US or European sizes on the product page. For reference, I ordered all of my items in a UK size 6.
  • Returns aren’t free, and they must be done in 14 days, so definitely be choosy about what you order or at least be on top of things. But, on the plus side, they do have a returns address in the US (NJ, to be exact), so you don’t have to pay for international shipping.
