Did you see ShopAKIRA on Instagram and want to read an honest ShopAKIRA review before clicking that “purchase” button? I’ve got you covered!

You may know by now that I’m always looking for new online retailers. You may also know that a lot of online retailers regularly disappoint me.

Today I want to introduce you to a brand that I recently tried that has not disappointed me yet! In fact, I was very pleasantly surprised with my first experience with them.

My Honest ShopAKIRA review

ShopAKIRA is a Chicago-based company. They actually have boutiques in Illinois and a couple other midwestern states, but they are only online everywhere else (at least currently). They stock fast fashion items similar to what you’d find at Forever 21, Dolls Kill, Pretty Little Thing, Missguided, etc. They are a little more on the edgy side and they stock lots of brands you probably already know and like (think Champion, Adidas, Cape Robbin, I AM GIA, etc.).

When I initially browsed their site, I immediately saw a ton of cute stuff, but a further look had me disappointed that they didn’t offer the majority of products in size XS (if you also wear size XXS/00 normally, check this post for places to shop).

I did find a cute pair of pants in XS, so I decided to try that, plus some funky heels and a layered silver necklace (I recently realized I have no simple silver necklaces, so it was time).

Mama Mia High Rise Flair Pant, $32.90

I honestly didn’t have very high hopes for the pants, because shopping for pants online can be tough and a lot of the times an XS is still too big on me.

However, when I tried the pants on, they were a perfect fit — and still super stretchy and comfy.

The shoes were surprisingly comfortable, and are made by ShopAKIRA’s in house brand, Azalea Wang. They also stock lots of shoes from Cape Robbin, which I’ve purchased before from other stores and they always seem to be a good option for affordable and trendy shoes (I am still obsessed with these Cape Robbin OTK boots I snagged from Goodbye Bread).

In terms of the necklace, I mean it’s a fast fashion necklace, it’s pretty standard. I’ve definitely worn it a ton since I bought it (like I said, I had a niche to fill in my jewelry wardrobe), and it hasn’t turned my neck green or anything, so I’d say it’s a win!

What I Bought:

Pants: Mama Mia High Rise Flair Pant, $32.90

Shoes: Azalea Wang Miss Behaving Sexy Stiletto Diamond Sandal, Size 7.5)

Necklace: Amen Layered Choker

The Good:

  • Everything seemed true to size
  • Lots of selection from cool new brands, and brands you already like — Champion, Adidas, Cape Robbin, I AM GIA, etc.
  • Quality was good for the low price
  • One stop shop: you can get a cute outfit, shoes, and accessories here
  • Comes with a return shipping label so you can return from home

The Bad:

  • Most of their items only come in sizes S, M, and L
  • Returns aren’t free, they’ll deduct the shipping cost from your refund

The Good To Know:

  • Like with most online retailers, the colors of products online can be a little different than how they look in person. I kind of knew the pants I ordered would be greener in person, which I preferred, but they definitely look more yellow online so if you wanted them to be yellow, you may have been disappointed
